The best fit for our firm is an individual who is familiar with political campaigns and has experience working with data. Candidates should have superb organizational and analytical skills and excellent time management. Our firm is based in Chicago, IL. This is a remote position and is open to candidates anywhere. This position ends on election day November 3, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Tracking competitive spending in excess of a dozen races. Campaigns range from federal to statewide to caucus races.
Developing relationships with station representatives to obtain up-to-the-minute information.
Documenting all spending in reports in our proprietary software and sharing updated reports in a timely fashion with clients.
Developing and tailoring reporting formats for each client.
Offering basic analysis of spending information to ensure accuracy.
Maintaining the firm’s high standard of comprehensive client services that meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Superb organization skills.
Deep experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.

Senior Motion Graphic Artist

A|L Media is an award-winning political media firm working for political candidates and issue-oriented campaigns across the country. We're hiring a Senior Motion Graphics Designer to lead motion work within our talented production team through the height of the election cycle.
This is a contract position through early November. Samples of work are required to be considered.
As a Senior Motion Graphic Artist at A|L, you'll be a creative leader on the production team—shaping concepts from the earliest stages, setting the bar for motion quality across our output, and helping less-experienced designers grow. You'll balance high-level creative direction with hands-on execution, delivering standout work against the fast, unforgiving timelines of a political news cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the motion design process on assigned projects, from concept through final delivery
Bring original ideas and creative direction to the team, and identify smarter, faster ways to execute against tight timelines
Create and refine high-impact graphic elements across all products, including TV, digital, print, and presentations
Excel at motion, color, typography, composition, imagery, and animation
Partner closely with production staff and account teams; work independently while also mentoring and guiding junior designers
Set and uphold standards for A|L's motion workflow and processes; keep work organized, consistent, and detail-oriented
Help maintain creative quality and consistency across multiple simultaneous campaigns
Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of professional motion design experience; this is a senior, non–entry-level role
Expert-level proficiency across the Adobe Suite—After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint—plus AE plugins and other relevant motion design tools
A strong portfolio demonstrating polished, high-level motion work (samples required)
Proven ability to lead projects and deliver in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing competing priorities
Excellent communication skills and the ability to give and receive creative direction
A self-motivated team player with the judgment to work autonomously and the instinct to mentor others
Availability nights and weekends during peak campaign periods
Nice to Have:
Video editing experience
Storyboarding experience

As we gear up for the final push of the election cycle, we are seeking a driven Producer to join our talented production team. This is a fast-paced contract role running through early November.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the entire production process from inception to delivery of all projects and products related to client
Work collaboratively with the account and creative teams in developing creative for all platforms to include: TV/ Radio, social ads and digital content
Ideate, concept and write compelling visual stories
Manage multiple projects in various stages
Organize all shoot logistics to include: hire crew, develop schedules, maintain budgets, conduct interviews, direct action when needed, conduct interviews
Supervising edit sessions and motion graphic artist requests in executing creative
License all project materials, work with vendors on content, music and talent (including on-camera and VO talent, music composition)
Maintain and reconcile production and post production budgets
Skills & Qualifications:
3 to 6 years as a full-time producer with experience in pre-production, field and post production departments
Experience managing a support team; in-field production crew; post-production team
Strong communication skills, excellent organization skills; is detail-oriented
Ability to manage multiple projects for multiple clients
Understands the demands of production hours; nights and weekends as necessary
Some travel required
Works well under pressure; consistently meets deadlines
Familiar with AICP and SAG/AFTRA guidelines and contracts a plus

2027 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Accounts & Production Internship Programs
Paid Internship with Progressive Political Media Firm
A|L Media’s award-winning team offers an internship for aspiring political professionals who want to jumpstart their careers with real-world political experience or who want to apply their hard skills toward advancing progressive politics. A|L interns assist with work across the firm, such as copywriting, research, competitive ad tracking, and coordinating production logistics. The best candidates for our internship program are individuals who are excited to work in a fast-paced environment, are detail-oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
The 2027 A|L internship cycle begins January 11, 2027 and concludes on December 10, 2027; candidates are expected to commit to the year-long program. This is a remote position, and applicants must be able to work 12-20 hours/week. Interns receive a compensation of $19/hour.

Internship Opportunities

Accounts Department Internship
Our Account Interns support Account Leads in servicing the needs of a variety of clients nationwide. This position is best suited for applicants interested in media planning, campaign consulting, and/or political communication.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble reports on media affairs to assist senior staff with campaign strategy, messaging, and research
Track political ad spending across key electoral races
Draft communication materials such as ad copy, Q&A for media prep, and talking points
Contribute to creative concepts and scripting for television, radio, and digital advertising
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or have obtained a degree in Political Science, Communications, History, Journalism, or a related field
Have an interest in political strategy and communications
Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
Passion for electing Democratic leaders
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as superb organizational abilities
Have experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Production Department Internship
This role is ideal for someone organized, proactive, and eager to gain hands-on experience across every step of the pre-production, on-set production, and post-production process. You will work closely with producers, editors, and strategists to keep projects moving, gather assets. assist with shoots, and support our fast-paced media operation.
Key Responsibilities
Support producers during pre-production with research, asset collection, and building pitch or mood boards
Assist in coordinating logistics for shoots, including drafting call sheets, sourcing locations, and booking crew
Reconcile production budgets, clear licensing materials (music/stock footage), and process crew invoices
Handle day-to-day administrative tasks to keep the production pipeline flowing smoothly
Serve as a Production Assistant (PA) on set (virtually or in-person), assisting with gear prep, managing talent releases, and providing general crew support
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently obtained a degree in film, media production, communications, politics, or similar subjects
1+ year(s) of foundational experience in video production or media (including student films and previous internships)
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a knack for keeping track of moving pieces
Superb communication with strong attention to detail, especially when handling production paperwork
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Familiarity with standard production and post-production workflows
Experience with production management tools (Monday.com, Google Drive, and timecard/wrap software) is a bonus
Interest in progressive politics and campaign media is strongly preferred
